.....”The fact that everyday life in Russia is still stable prevents common people from understanding how fragile the political situation is”.....

Rather like is being done here and in other countries. Keeping the propaganda moving right along, coupled with phony statistics for the better informed, keeps the people blind to what might otherwise be mass revolt.....

Even when the people start being affected....it takes a long time for them to rise up as they believe their Government has the answers....just as here.

Here is a link to a Bloomberg story that helps explain how thoroughly Putin has corrupted the system and how for now that's his tool for remaining president for life.

...”His tool for remaining president for life”.....

Sounds like OBama’s plan for another four years!

From the article...”Putin has come to be seen as a symbolic and sacred figure who is ‘not’ responsible for the economic situation in the country, but is responsible for the country’s greatness,”.... Levinson told the Gaidar Forum audience.....
“The more Russians feel that they are threatened by the outside world, the more ‘they will consolidate around Putin,” he said.

I believe this is true from reading Russians comments over the social networks and comments to articles on line. The population is defending him...like Obama’s followers are him.

I believe this is happening because the nations people throughout the world are primed for “cult” like leaders they can admire and get behind. Especially when the youth are so wired to technology and leave little time for anything but their minds fed with whatever is pushed over the internet.....this leaves populations ripe for a “King”.

If Putin really wanted to cement his legacy as something positive for Russia he would follow in the footsteps of Franco and restore the Monarchy.

Both Obama and Putin are very much alike...and how they see their position as LEaders of their countries....their egos swim in popularity like a cult leader would....the difference is the system of government each is operating in....and the population mindset.

Our people are accustomed to “freedom” though quickly changing to resemble Russians in how they see government.

Russia’s population are accustomed to “Tzars” and barely grasp the idea of Democracy and understanding of. So they are more comfortable depending on the government.

So both nations populations are equally vulnerable to the dictates of a “leader”.

Are you sure this is on the level? Sounds like a joke at the end:

Gozman said that most of the last year's predictions failed to materialize, and that the prize — a bottle of booze — would therefore not be awarded to any of the panelists. However, next year's winner will get two bottles to distract from the dismal realities he or she correctly predicted this year — that is, if the Presidential Academy allows the same experts to hold such a panel again, he added.

He won't go another 4 years...in fact at the rate he's moving now he may not last the ones remaining.....he's hit the paranoid stage of a Narcissist....from time to time you can see it....that's why he has to golf and give plenty speeches and vacations away....it's the only way they'll be able to prevent him from a blowout....is just to keep him occupied when he isn't creating a crisis of some sort....which his ego feeds off and he's driven by.

That’s an interesting thought, but I don’t know that there are any Romanovs left. The party Putin served so well murdered quite a few of them so the bloodline may have died out.

I agree with you that Putin’s and Obama’s supporters have a godlike reverence for their leaders that is irrational and ignorant of facts.

The TRUE BELIEVER is an excellent book on mass movements, a seminal work.

The Book looks interesting....
I've been viewing a lot of Hitlers videos, and those from the Holocaust....also about Hitlers men and their positions as well as dynamics among etc. You can see the masses move as "ordered"...and the "Tricks" the Nazi's used to fool the people....interesting that Obama and Holder use similar tactics....but then he is a Narcissist as Hitler was....and how easily they can rise their "people" regardless of oppsoing "facts".

I think technology has isolated everyone so much now there's no sense ‘of community’ at all. I began seeing this during my lunch hour at work....Before everyone had cell phones people use to engage with each other. They don't now.

It's so sad to see everybody around you “immersed” in their phones regardless if or not they're actually speaking or texting....they're stressed trying to find someone to engage with on their phone and you can 'easily' see it.

So with this 'isolation' they are really ripe for the pickings of whatever “hero” might make them feel significant....and it doesn't take much to rise them up on the social networks. They're like little robots.

If you know what to look for you see mini-ones along the way. No doubt his staff see these with some frequency. But a Narcissist will quickly stroke feathers if he has to in order to remain balanced.

Even BO’s vocabulary is showing it more and more...he really is an empty suit and it takes a whole lot of mental energy for him to maintain his facade. That's why he's always playing the “someone elses fault” card....it points away from him when he's feeling unstable....or loosing his bases support.....when that doesn't work because people are wise to him..he'll withdraw, again because his greatest fear is he'll be exposed.

Remember for awhile we didn't hear much from him or about him....when he's ultimately loosing he'll withdraw, not out of embarrassment...but because we're not worthy of his presence in his mind. Typical Narcissistic trait. We've all seen threads with Narcissistic traits Obama has shown clearly....the key is what do they do when backed into a corner...and that is why he's dangerous. IMO...there are 'plenty' of Congressmen who know what we've got in Obama and also the danger....that's why they brought up the 25th Amendment...He is unstable and they know it....but he also has the "black bag"....and a Muslim team surrounding him now.
