I had a Muslim Pakistani colleague who was quite nice and very pleasant to work with.
He had a Ph.D in Engineering from a Western university too. Obviously an educated man.
That was when Salman Rushdie came out with his book — THE SATANIC VERSES.
After that, the Ayatollah Kohmeini issued a fatwa saying that Rushdie must be killed for his work.
I discussed this issue with him over lunch and to my unpleasant surprised, he actually AGREED with the Ayatollah.
This, from a peaceful, nice guy who was quite pleasant to work with.
Which makes me wonder .... how many “moderate” Muslims think like that?
To which the one I posted the message to responded:
I had exactly the same experience. At lunch my Muslim work “buddy” said, casually, “well, he (Rushdie) needs to die.” He then stuffed pizza into his mouth as if he’d just said, “the weather is nice.” We are crazy to let Muslims immigrate here.

So even if a very lare pct. of Muslims don't go around killing and destroying, they're not too upset about the more radical Muslims who do go around killing and destroying.
10-20 percent of Muslims are willing to pursue jihad actively if their family, tribe, imam give them the go-ahead.
Another 50 percent don't actively pursue jihad, but are in total agreement with those who do and are completely opposed to western society and morals. These will take to the streets, watch arab TV exclusively, direct hate to Jews and support organizations like CAIR.
20 percent consider themselves Muslim but do not agree that Islam requires the kind of sharia law that the other muslims do. They are in a small minority within Islam, and do not speak up much, but live their lives peacefully and within Western society. They agree that Muhammad was a prophet of allah (piss be upon him), that allah is a deity, that the koran is holy scripture, but they genuinely disagree on what it requires. Sometimes people who come from this group, or their children, can become radicalized and will join the Muslim majority view, because the fact is, the majority are reading their koran literally and as the word of allah (piss be upon him), they have to follow it. The majority has the better of the argument.
10-20 percent at best are culturally Islamic, but think that Muhammad was not a genuine prophet of allah (piss be upon him). They agree that it is made up, but they are kind of used to it now. Like those Jews who consider themselves atheists but culturally Jewish, and who give Bar Mitzvahs to their boys. Some of them, both Muslim and Jewish, may believe in a deity, but not in the genuineness of their holy books. Or they may just be atheists. These people on the Muslim side are not a problem, but they are not really Muslim. It is why I have said often that "the only good Muslim is not a good Muslim." And, even within these people, you always have the possibility of a religious awakening, either for them or their children. So, they can remain a potential danger.
The only real way to eliminate the threat from islam is to thoroughly and permanently discredit it through the truth, of its founding, of its principles, of its history, of its thinking. Relegate it to the dustbin of beliefs, like nazism, soviet communism (although that is making a comeback) and other false beliefs. Attack it on an intellectual basis and spread the word in any and every way. Radio Free Europe didn't have an issue with proclaiming the truth to the benighted masses suffering under communism. We have to be willing to have a radio Truth about Islam, an internet, print media, television media, etc. Obviously, this will require a government to push it, because individuals cannot do these things without fear of beheading and legal consequences in their own western nations. And we won't get a nation to push this until some more terrible things happen that force us to face up to the danger. God help us.
