Yes. Exactly.
And, in the past we did not even need a US passport to go to Mexico or Canada.

Why not just have a universal passport for everyone in the universe. When looking at aggergates, we all share the same demographics, evironment, culture, etc. It's like one big pie, without slices. Who are we to say that Martians are different than us, green skin or not?
Personally, I'd be happy if I could have a Pennsylvania passport, as it would indicate a swing to state's rights. Before reconstruction, people in the United States referred to citizenship by their state. The reality is, even today, there are substainial differences between states in terms of demographics, culture, economy, environment, etc.

Ok, why not a Global Passport? Afterall, don't the libs say we are all citizens of the world???
P.S. In case any of the low-information crowd are reading this, I'm being sarcastic.

The worthy folks already trot around the globe however they please with no fears or fees high enough to bother them. It’s surprising that any of their political cheerleaders would want to allow the lowly proles to cross borders willy nilly without fear.

"The United States, Canada and Mexico are bound by a shared economic, environmental, demographic and cultural destiny."
Get that much snow down in Mexico? 100+ degree days in Canada? Curious to know what the Hispanic population of Canada is, and likewise the Canadian population of Mexico?
So much for all this "bound, sharing" nonsense.

And we may share a “cultural destiny” but I ain’t happy about it!

We didn’t need a passport to go to Canada and spend some money in the past. And here we are, with fatter Yankee dollars again. [Will the currency war bring the loonie to par with the peso?]

As to "cultural destiny", let's get real. Mexican citizens living here in the U.S. are separatists. Just found the numbers -- 1.2% of Canadians classify themselves as Hispanic. And there's approximately 500,000 Canadians living in Mexico.
Some other "cultural similarities". Football is played on a 110 yard field in Canada, 100 yard field in the U.S., and with a soccer ball in Mexico. And I can't wait for the NHL expansion franchise in Mexico City.
Yeah, we're soooooo similar culturally.

“Your papers, please?”
I don’t think so. Over their dead bodies. Kill enough of those who demand those papers, and it’ll get old real quick.

Isn’t there an early line in “We Were Soldiers” that’s relevant in this situation?

I hope the first question your customs officer asks is “are you a liberal? Sorry, we dont allow anti gun libtards in our country”

I meant we’re all going down the tubes together.
I want no part of Mexico or Canada (nothing against Canada). I’m a proud citizen of the USA!

Although it's quite easy for Americans and Canadians to cross our common border now I think I could support making it even easier...perhaps even using the agreement that Great Britain and Ireland have in place as a model. But I,for one, want to see our *southern* border sealed tighter than the North Korea/South Korea border.
We don't need their drugs...their illiterate welfare parasites...their gang members....their tomatoes...their TVs or their cars.
Canada could possibly want to open their borders to these Third World nations but they'd be absolutely out of their minds to do it.
