I base it on talking to people. I work in a highly technical field with college graduates as well as even higher learning. The majority of them have no clue as to what he government is doing to them.
That's one of the factors I base my conclusion on, as well.
I also factor the tens of thousands of anonymous (as opposed to facebook) reader comments I've seen over the decades on open comment/discussion forums on such MSM sites as LA Times, Yahoo, Salon, etc.
I factor in the obvious fact that Democrats have long mastered the craft of intense vote manipulation. Left to their own, many of the most politically ignorant Americans would skip the trouble of voting, which is the right and good thing. Democrats have whole processes to harvest those votes, not to mention illegal votes, fighting voter ID, Motor Voter, etcetera. The left is actually the minority, so votes have to be harvested.
Even the Republican party's left is a minority and thus has to resort to it -- look at Cochran's recruitment of Democrat primary voters, with racist lies, to cheat McDaniel and the folks who voted for him.
I worked in and around the MSM for quite awhile, and I'm here to tell you that the bias is MUCH MUCH WORSE than most people even realize. I factor that in, as well. I know the MSM is a very false representative of America.
The mainstream media and pop culture represent only their own selves plus a minority of Americans who care enough to vote on their own, without being led down a path.
In real Americans on the ground, the ones who produce and make things work, the MSM is loathed and scorned for leftist bias, "liberalism" (that is the word overwhelmingly used) is held in contempt, and Obama is loathed.
I factor in the fact that I often -- not always, but often -- see that loud and clear, nearly two to one, in reading the "voices" of anonymous American people as they speak out anonymously as consumers of the MSM.
I put two and two together. The left has to cheat because it's a minority. The MSM is fatally dominated by a bullying bunch of leftists who hold Americans in such contempt that they'll turn a blind eye to cheating that seizes control of government., hence tyranny. The MSM and the left think Americans are that stupid.
All the evidence indicates that in realty, Americans are pretty darned smart, at least informed on-the-ground voting legal Americans, the ones who vote (or decline to vote) because they CARE. I'm not saying it's everybody, but it is a LOT more than what the MSM ever reflects in its reports about what Americans are Doing Today.
The MSM holds huge power in that it bamboozles Americans into holding each other in contempt on a false premise.
Hence we have conservative/Christian/Republican "patriots" who despise the majority of their countrymen as idiots.
It is a stone-cold, guaranteed, LOSING stance, not to mention a wrong one.
Anyone who thinks most Americans are idiots should either wake up -- or is anti-American and should move to Europe.
