As much as it may sound nice, it will likely come to bite people of other faiths, such as if they feel it applies to Christians in the future. If our government did this to Muslims, Christians would likely be next.

I think there’s a difference from other faiths. Islam is more than a religion. It’s also political and military. It’s adherents are committing heinous acts of barbarism all over the world. They want to conquer lands in the name of Allah. They use intimidation to keep its more passive members in line. They oppress women and non-muslims. Islam is not compatible with democracy, and if allowed to expand, there will be no more democracy. It should not have first amendment protection or tax exempt status. That doesn’t mean they can’t still practice Islam, they just won’t be able to hide behind religious freedom anymore. We have rights under the constitution, but they are not limitless. That’s not an innovation, that’s the way it’s always been, just as Islam has always been at odds with the West.
