What about polio? In the 50’s it was still a serious problem, but you would be OK if they never vaccinated for it, right? Just let the children get polio and get over it naturally.
Of course I had a polio vaccination, ditto for small pox, diphtheria, and one or two others.
No, we weren't vaccinated against what were considered to be CHILDHOOD ILLNESSES. This was the 50’s, the middle of the baby boom, and a huge number of young kids. And pretty much EVERY kid I went to school with got the measles, mumps, and chickenpox. And not one had any kind of serious problem with them. It was just considered part of childhood - no big thing at all. I guess there just weren't enough big drug companies around to make these childhood illnesses into a big deal.
