Donetsk (Ukraine) (AFP) - Ukraine's pro-Russian rebel chief on Monday branded the country's leaders "miserable" Jews in an apparent anti-Semitic jibe.
Alexander Zakharchenko, leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, claimed that Kiev's pro-Western leaders were "miserable representatives of the great Jewish people".
"I can't remember a time when Cossacks were led by people who have never held a sword in their hands," Zakharchenko told a press conference in the eastern rebel stronghold of Donetsk, in a reference to Ukraine's nationalist forebears, the Cossacks.

Essentially I see the Ukrainians as a people searching for an identity and the best way is to say who you are not.
This is due to their history -- as the birthplace of Eastern Slavs (Muscovites, Belarussians and Ukrainians), they want to link to that past, but that's gone. The Mongols destroyed it and then the 3 East Slav regions went under the Influence of Mongols (Muscovites), Lithuanians (Belrusyni) and Poles (ukrainians). The Ukrainians under Khlemnitskiy made a pact with the devil signing up with the Muscovite Tsar. Since then for 300 years they have been the in-betweeners
Communism exacerbated this -- this is a land of people who self-describe their nationality as "tutajsi" -- "from here only". They have never been allowed to create a sense of nationhood greater than the local area. And let's not be proud of other nations that HAVE -- this sentiment is only 200 to 300 years old in most of the world.

I like the recent challenge they have with the lady in Russia charged with treason for betraying troop movements in Ukraine. They never stop to ask why this mother of seven is able to betray a state secret about Russian troops that, according to Putinistas, are not in Ukraine. For them, there is no disconnect. Whatever Putin says is true.
Interestingly, some ordinary “don’t want to succumb to the Russians or the West” Ukrainians are also pointing out the occupation of many high offices in Ukraine by wealthy Jews. Probably this is grousing by minority right wing elements unhappy at not getting power, but it sure puts a hole in the “Ukraine has been taken over by Nazis” meme.
Just like leftists, a closed feedback loop. It doesn’t need to make any sense, they chose a side and they will stick with it no matter how insane it gets.
Obama-American-Nazi-Jews overthrew the repressive Russian-puppet government for oil (does Ukraine have oil?) or something. No, the fiendishly clever jews were after the black sea fishing rights!
Not to mention a title of this article is quite misleading. You don’t need a 100+ IQ to get what was really said by this rebel and it is certainly not in a title.
