Our country is fairly unique in history in that when power changes hands, those who were previously in power don’t get executed.
Our side, however, has taken this tradition too far in allowing actual crimes against the Constitution go unpunished.
I think it’s a loss of the concept of “true authority”.
The true authority in our country lies not in the elected people in government, nor in their offices,
but in the written words of the Constitution as they were understood at the time of their writing.
