Man Fights Off Three Would-Be Robbers by Ignoring Sonic’s Gun-Free Request

On February 8, a customer who ignored Sonic’s request that “customers refrain from bringing guns to the restaurant” was able to pull his gun and shoot one of three alleged armed robbers, killing him and stopping the would-be robbery.

Breitbart News previously reported that on May 30, 2014, Sonic asked law-abiding citizens to come to the restaurant unarmed. We also reported that a Sonic in Topeka, Kansas, was robbed the very day that customers were asked to come and eat while defenseless.

The only Sonics I have ever seen are “drive up” restaurants, and customers generally stay in their cars. Seems like one could have a weapon in one’s car. ?

Moral of the story: either ‘pack’, or avoid Sonic.

“Sonic’s request that “customers refrain from bringing guns to the restaurant”

EFF OFF sonic, your food sucks anyway, at least the times I’ve been there it has.

Never been to Sonic, but now I’m certain that I shall never visit any of them.

Some of the sonics I have seen have a small indoor area to eat in if you wish. Or tables outside. Did NOT see any sonic provided storage area off site to leave your weapon though. And, it was a request. So let me get this straight. Could they “reserve the right to refuse service” to someone in that case? But you can’t “reserve the right to refuse service” to someone whose demands are counter to your beliefs. Like cake makers? Bizzarro freakin’ world. I think the old “We reserve the right to refuse...” won’t fly any longer with the perpetually offended.

The MORAL of the story:

Do NOT listen to the LIBERAL LOONS who tell you to make yourself defenseless.

Ignoring Sonic’s Gun-Free Request is like failing to breathe.

The guy is a patriot. Gun-free zone, pffftt...

Concealed means concealed.

I probably visit my local Sonic about twice a month. It's the Ched ‘R’ Peppers. I'm always there in my vehicle where I store at least one firearm. Sonic’s “Gun-Free Request” allows them to pander to anti-gun nuts while imposing no real restraint on gun owners.

Mr Brayboy appears to be one of 0bama's sons (What a surprise - I would have never guessed. I suppose he was celebrating black history month.)

Across the South most Sonics have a small outdoor seating area.

I’ve never eaten at Sonic, but tried to a couple of times. I don’t eat in my car and discovered that, at least where I live, there is no indoor eating area. You eat in your car.

This means that where I live their rule is irrelevant.

Yeah. This is an article in search for a story. He wasn’t in the restaurant. He was in the drive thru lane. In his car.

From the article: “The other two suspects ran; one has since been caught. That suspect, 17-year-old Desmond McKnight, has been charged with murder, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and tampering with evidence.”

As with others, I was not impressed with Sonic’s offerings (got a free coupon).

It just occurred to me that Mr. Toombs might now inhabit one.

It’s private property. It’s a little known secret that you can pretty much ignore stop signs in store and shopping mall parking lots, but there are exceptions depending on your city or state.

I treat them as suggestions.
