The real issue here starts long before adulthood. So much emphasis has been placed on lust, that platonic friendship and love has been forgotten.

If you raise a dog apart from other dogs, it will see other dogs as alien and threatening. It will still want to mate, but it also wants to fight them, and is very confused. This is all very obvious to dog owners, who if they are conscientious, try hard to socialize their dog with other dogs.

So why should children be any different? Yet the western world doesn’t have any good, chaperoned means of socializing children across gender lines, so they know the other gender as human beings. Boys are only allowed to play with boys, and girls with girls. While granted, this is their preference, they need to transcend this.

Most adults assume that children are cross gender socialized in school and church, but this is not true, as the adults in both places keep them too busy to socialize. And the older children get, the more separated they become, where they only see one group of children for 50 minutes, then are put with a different group of children for their next class.

It has reached a point that they are segregated until their last two years in high school, when it is *assumed* that they will suddenly date, find romance, get married and have children. Or else go to college, and something nebulous.

It’s not working.

Simply put, this is why pornography is so incredibly popular. It goes beyond lust. It goes to the overwhelming desire to be intimate, far beyond the sex act, to touch and be touched, to share, to love and be loved. To have a relation with someone of the opposite gender that is not based in hostility, like they are a dog from another pack.

And this real intimacy begins at a young age, with experience in a chaperoned environment, and not so distracted with other things that it cannot happen.

We have long seen what happens when this doesn’t happen in children’s lives. All the loneliness, pain, suffering, anger, violence, and bitter meanness, caused by the social isolation children have been kept in, for their entire childhood.

If we could do this for children right now, they wouldn’t have to face the loneliness, sadness and isolation that most adults today are condemned to endure for the rest of their lives. Children shouldn’t be forced to grow up like we did.

We have pornography. They could have love. But if we fail, they will only have pornography.
