So it was with Richard Nixon. Had he accepted personal responsibility, immediately, and then taken the steps, immediately, to investigate and resolve the matter, there would have been no Watergate scandal marring his legacy. I doubt it. The Leftist Media, unable to win an election at the ballot box, was going to have their coup - no matter what.
