"The Freedom Index: A Congressional Scorecard Based on the U.S. Constitution" rates congressmen based on their adherence to constitutional principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, national sovereignty, and a traditional foreign policy of avoiding foreign entanglements. The percentages below are cumulative scores based on key votes from 1999 through 2014. Click on a senator's or representative's name to get a detailed breakdown of his or her voting record.

Full list is at the link.

The Congressman with the highest rating is Representative Thomas Massie (R) from Kentucky's District 4 with 97%.

Out of 535 Congressmen, only ten earned a rating in the single digits. Here is the rollcall the ten most anti-American Congressmen:

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) 9% Up for defeat in 2016
Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) 2% Up for defeat in 2016

Sen. Timothy Kaine (D-VA) 0% Up for defeat in 2018
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) 7% Up for defeat in 2018
Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) 9% Up for defeat in 2018
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) 5% Up for defeat in 2018

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) 9% Up for defeat in 2020
Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) 8% Up for defeat in 2020
Sen. Alan Franken (D-MN) 7% Up for defeat in 2020
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) 7% Up for defeat in 2020

Unsurprisingly, all Democrats. Note that they are all Senators. The tide is turning, but it turns more slowly in the Senate than the House.

Bookmark and great catch T, I see my state’s (WA) Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell aren’t far behind the “leaders”.

I didn’t see McCain on there.
(And you have to admit McCain/Feingold was really bad.)

Communist Sanders is not #1? Shocking.

Ellison rated 25% and Carson 16%.

These Democrat despisers of America are pretty bad when they get beat by Mohammedans.

I’m not sure I believe those rankings. Those two guys should be at 200 percent on an anti-American scale.

I wish Billy Mumy could wish those ten to the Cornfield.

The scores are heavily skewed toward communism and tyranny. There are 5 in the 90s, but 10 in 0-10 bracket. The same 2:1 skew seems consistent throughout each 10 point bracket.

Your list shows that I made a mistake about the Congressman with the best record. It is Curtis Clawson of Florida with 100%. He shows on your list between 9% and 10%

Do you mean that the scores are skewed, or that the membership of Congress is skewed?

I think most of the skewing is in the Senate. The bottom 22 are all Senators.

Membership in Congress according to the data presented. Leans heavily left.
