Russell Moore outed himself as a pro-amnesty scumbag three or four years ago. The Baptists had a chance to can him. They didn’t. They obviously support amnesty to help fill their pews with illegals, as the Mormons and Catholics do.
Russell Moore also gave the sodomites fodder by condemning reparative therapy for homosexuality. I don’t think psychological (secular therapy) is effective, but the context is trying to oppose homosexuality, which Moore has effectively disclaimed.
The fact the he wasn’t ousted speaks more of the actual real word irrelevance of the SBC to the Baptist churches. They really are little more than a common effort for missions and such, though they love to portray themselves as an ersatz Vatican.
Their main other thing is education of seminary students.
But make no mistake, they do not speak for the faith, therefore, you see no huge effort to take them over by normal old fashioned Baptists.
