LONDON — A young man hands out candy to passers-by and Sunday afternoon visitors are welcomed through its open doors with cups of tea and biscuits. It is hard to imagine that a decade ago this place of worship was a hangout for some of the world's most notorious and deadly jihadis.
Finsbury Park Mosque in north London was once the domain of hook-handed imam Abu Hamza, whose extremist sermons inspired attendees including 9/11 co-conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui, failed American Airlines "shoe bomber" Richard Reid and London subway suicide bomber Mohammed Sidique Khan.
The "suicide factory" — as one book called it — was also visited by Djamel Beghal, the Islamist "sorcerer" and jail inmate accused of bringing together those responsible for the Charlie Hebdo massacre and related attacks in Paris last month.
In the wake of those Paris atrocities, the Muslim Council of Britain — the umbrella organization for Islamic institutions in the U.K. — called on member mosques to open their doors, hoping to "demonstrate solidarity during what has been a tense time for faith communities" and ease "tensions around terrorism."
On "Visit My Mosque Day" at Finsbury Park earlier this month, children proudly lined up to perform for guests. A boy dressed in galabiyya [Islamic dress for men] and holding a British flag was joined by girls in headscarves. Together they sang songs, and recited poetry praising their faith.

Well, they may have “expelled” some fellows who have brought some attention on the mosque that makes it difficult to pursue jjihad properly so they have to change personnel a bit and maybe get some better cover for their activities.

When our Dear Leader opines that terrorist butchers are “not Islamic”, we need only look at what goes on in countries that are majority Muslim and which are ruled according to sharia.
Apostates are beheaded. Rape victims are stoned to death as adulterers. Children are raped. Homosexuals are hanged, thrown off of high buildings or have masonry walls toppled on them. Petty thieves lose limbs. Domestic help are held as slaves. Women are chattel. This is true in Iran and Saudi Arabia, the undisputed homes and well springs of Shia and Sunni Islam respectively.
If this brutality is their normal everyday regime among their own faithful, then the barbarism that is visited upon infidels, who they are taught are the offspring of pigs and dogs, is anything but surprising. Any offshoot of Islam that rejects this brutality is the apostate, to be rejected by the uma, and to be punished with death.
For Islam to evolve it must go through its own Reformation, complete with its own Dark Ages, Spanish Inquisition and Hundred Years War, and emerge into its own Enlightenment. People sort of skip over that chapter of Christian history that allowed it to evolve into the embrace of the Gospel and a liberal and largely peaceful accommodation that has emerged between sects and with other religions. Quite frankly, we’ve had to quit taking things so seriously, literally and fundamentally and selectively interpret and elevate portions of Scripture over others.
Islamists are brutal because they adhere to a very literal, and I would say faithful, interpretation of their holy texts. They are practicing true and literal Islam. It is the exact opposite of what Obama likes to claim.
