As Republicans Concede, F.C.C. Is Expected to Enforce Net Neutrality
New York Slimes ^ | 2/24/2014 | Jonathan Weisman

WASHINGTON — Last April, a dozen New York-based Internet companies gathered in the Flatiron Building boardroom of the social media website Tumblr to hear dire warnings that broadband providers were about to get the right to charge for the fastest speeds on the web.

The implication: If they didn’t pay up, they would be stuck in the slow lane.

What followed has been the longest, most sustained campaign of Internet activism in history, one that the little guys appear to have won. On Thursday, the Federal Communications Commission is expected to vote to regulate the Internet as a public good. On Tuesday, Senator John Thune, Republican of South Dakota and chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, all but surrendered on efforts to overturn the coming ruling, conceding Democrats are lining up with President Obama in favor of the F.C.C.

But no one in the government has the backbone to take him on. We can say, “well, so & so has the power to bring him under control” all day long but no one in the House or Senate will do anything to stop him, GOP or the Rats!

I can only say that I quit the Republican Party in January and at this point I’m glad I did it.I’m so tired of these cowards and their lies.

I just have to hope a Conservative Party can develop that will be more willing to fight with the Communist that are running our government.

He plans on staying in Washington and is having a house built there supposedly. Is there any precedent for an ex President to immediately set up shop and stay in Washington D.C.?

It gets worse: My ISP could decide to STOP their LTE rollout, then shut it all down later thanks to the Obamanet...probably taking the UMTS with it too, since 3G and 4G are more expensive to build and maintain...after all, the bare minimum 3G standard (according to the CCITT) is EDGE.

Thanks to the Obamanet, they’ll probably only be able to profitably maintain the bare minimum...wonder why the UK only got LTE in 2012? This.

The GOP candidate that simply says "I plan on reversing everything the Obama Admin did to the USA" would win. That is a simple campaign message.

That's what they all say. It's what they do that bites.

Let's see. . something every day. Today he vetoes the Keystone Pipeline and 'Net Neutrality' is on deck? How much is this going to cost everyone? Where are the republicans we all voted for last November? New regulations and taxes every day. . Is it time for the R word?

622 more days! Will we make it?

How much more are we going to take?

The answer will soon be known when another election cycle comes upon us. In 2016, we'll see a parade of so-called conservative Republicans on Free Republic ridicule other conservatives for not supporting the GOP establishment, elitist liberal that will surely top the ticket.
