Walker Has Strong Early Lead In Iowa GOP Caucus [truncated]
Quinnipiac University Poll ^ | Fenruary 25, 2015 | Staff

An early look at likely Iowa Republican Caucus participants shows a strong conservative tilt as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leads the pack with 25 percent, twice as high as his nearest rival, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Voters who identify as "very conservative" make up 45 percent of the caucus participants surveyed by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University. Tea Party supporters make up 32 percent of likely caucus-goers and Walker gets 33 percent of that Tea Party vote.

There is a horse race for second place, with 13 percent for U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, 11 percent each for Michigan physician Ben Carson and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and 10 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. No other candidate is above 5 percent and 9 percent are undecided.

Support for Bush has plummeted. Once Cruz is a non-entity.

Who led the polls in February 2007? February 2011?

Bush never had any support on name recognition.

If Walker can take Iowa, New Hampshire and S. Carolina, he then can go on to Super Sunday in the South and build up a substantial delegate count.

Walker/Cruz or Cruz/Walker... either or.

Let’s put another person up for nomination and in office that doesn’t take the leftist media’s crap.

A sense that Scott Walker may be the next version of Ronald Reagan.

Of course, RR was one in a million. Perhaps SW is also one in a million. What I do know is that millions of patriotic Americans have been praying to God for deliverance from the leftist cabal of the intelligentia, news media, and other special interest big government folks.

One thing is for certain - Scott Walker is willing to take on interest groups who are taking advantage of tax payers.

Time will tell who will end up on top of the GOP field, but I have more hope now than I have had for several years. I like Walker, Crus, Jindal, Greg Abbott. A whole new crop of very good national leaders are springing forth, and finally getting the attention they deserve..

I think the Democrats’ decision to try to recall Walker will go down as one of the most colossal blunders in modern political history. This act made him a national figure and perhaps the next President.

How does Huckabee get 10%?

Christians who pay little attention to politics like Huckabee.

The headline is false. The caucus isn’t for another year.

Before the official caucus, there will be what has been known as the Ames straw poll, which can have a huge impact on the caucuses.

The interesting thing about Iowa is that it’s mostly face to face. Even at the Ames straw poll, you have to be willing to travel and spend some time socializing with others. That’s even more true with the caucuses.

And the bottom line is that the Iowa caucus presidential preference poll is completely non-binding. No delegates committed to a candidate are selected. Strictly PR.

It blows my mind. I actually think he’s a decent personality AS A TALK SHOW HOST or interviewer. As a candidate, he’s just a disaster. I can’t figure out who his constituency is. It’s not the GOPe, even if he does serve their interest by splitting the conservative vote.
