Congress has narrowly averted a shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security for one week, setting up another funding showdown for next Friday.
Hours before a midnight deadline, the House easily approved a one-week extension of the funding. It required two-thirds of members' support to pass.
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi reversed course later Friday night, instructing House Democrats to back the one-week measure.

I’m betting on Boehner’s caving. He wants this Presidential Constitution breaking to proceed but he had to make a show of resisting for a short time. Did he not intend to give the Sultan what the Sultan wants he would not have allowed this one-week extension. He is buying time to try to look good.

Millions of votes. Those illegals will all be citizens before November next year and I am not talking about 5 million. There will be 13-14 million to start. Then many millions more will be brought in and processed. it will be assembly line citizenship buy then. If he can do the Amnesty without actual opposition he can do the whole damned thing. There is no sense in getting hyped about the conservative candidates for next year. They are irrelevant, even if Cruz is the Nominee and Candidate. He can’t beat 7 million new Democrat votes not to mention the vastly higher level of vote fraud there will be.

I was wondering - IIRC the Texas Judge told the 26 States that they had until next Monday to respond to the docs the Admin filed after his ruling for cease and desist. Is it possible they agreed to the 1-week extension to see what the judge rules (though I’m not sure that he’ll rule again that quickly) and not be accused of a “shutdown”? I read on another FR thread that Sherriff Joe’s attorney and Ted Cruz have both provided letters to the Judge wrt the fact that they think the Admin is not following the Judge’s cease and desist.

There is an ever so slight possibility Boehner won’t “cave.” That is the possibility that he thinks he will lose his speakership if he gives the Sultan what the sultan wants. I do not use the word “cave” for what Boehner wants to do. Caving implies that one is surrendering what one really prefers. That is not the case with Boehner. Boehner wants whatever his boss wants unless it costs him his position. He will do what the Sultan tells him to do if he can and stay Speaker.
