This thing about robots reminds me of what we had to put up w/ a few decades ago when computers came out. Of course now we can all see the millions of jobs computers have created but a century ago the very word "computer" referred to a worker whose job it was to well, "compute".

In the 80’s productivity was revolutionized by computers (Moore’s Law)

In the 90’s by the internet and networks (Metcalfe’s Law)

In the mid-2000’s through now is the mobile revolution.

Robotics the next wave?

When I was an undergraduate we used to joke about one of our math profs who took a calculator on his honeymoon. That was her job, to run a mechanical calculating machine in an office.
