I read somewhere today that they had pictures of the bow. But I can’t vouch for that.
Yes, I saw that, too. I've just looked again at the Daily Mail article and found added pictures at the bottom; either I missed them this morning or they've since been added. There seems to be a small bow section with a plane catapult, which is apparently what was referenced.
There's even a one-minute video with excellent clarity. What's entirely missing from both the stills and the video is anything even remotely resembling a hull or superstructure. If you claimed to have found a 73,000-ton battleship and had the capability of taking clear photos, don't you think you might include those? How can 73,000 tons become invisible? If you don't show them, how can you claim to have found a ship at all, much less a specific ship, rather than merely unidentifable artifacts?
Something's not right, either in this reporting or in the discovery itself.
Usually the first thing they look for on the Japanese wrecks is the chrysanthemum on the bow. That’s the signature of a Japanese warship.
I read that they found that very thing. But again, I don’t know for sure.
If you found IJN Musashi, show proof. I want 18” turrets, a Chrysanthemum bow, and the distinctive 6.1” triple mounts above the main batteries would pretty much confirm the discovery.
The Washington Post has a story up with some pics. One is of a gun turret, perhaps, although they have a question mark behind it. Another is what they claim is the catapult for launching float planes. That seems like something that would be verifiable.
Seems like the anchors they have pictured would be pretty distinctive as well.
They do have the base of a gun turret and a pic of the Chrysanthemum pictured in the video here:

One of the articles I read said they found the bow and the location where the chrysanthemum “would be.” So, I don’t think they have found the chrysanthemum, at least not yet.
I saw the photo this morning; it looks like the bow with the round spot where the chrysanthemum crest would have been mounted, but the crest isn’t there now. Given the incredible punishment absorbed by Musashi before she sank, it could have been blown off.
Still, I would want more photos of distinctive features of the ship.
I’m with henkster on this. If you claim to have found an identifiable ship, then show us the ship! Instead, we’re treated to an inconsequential 0.1% of it, none of it even remotely conclusive. Something’s not right, either with the reporting or with the discovery itself. Bah, humbug.
Hey, I’m just reporting the story. I agree confirmation is required. On the other hand, if this isn’t Musashi, Paul Allen looks like a world class fool who wasted his money on that fancy ship.
Of course, and we appreciate your efforts.
if this isnt Musashi, Paul Allen looks like a world class fool
Well, he's certainly allowed the question to be raised, so far anyway. Since Buckhead's exposure of Rather's fraud here, it's S.O.P. to look for similar hucksterism, even if the Presidency doesn't depend on it.
My service was in the 70's, in those IBM Selectric days. I can't tell you how many orders and memos I saw typed on those. The minute I saw those documents I knew there was something wrong with them.
That was an amazing day. In just a few hours and lots of back and forth on FR, Rather was busted. The power of the Internet illustrated.
And don’t forget how PowerLine picked up that ball and ran with it.
We need the power of the internet now more than ever. As one of my “community service” acts, I am an advisor to the local high school’s “We The People” Constitutional Law debate team. So, yeah, I read Constitutional law cases and discuss our Constitution with high school kids.
I am absolutely appalled at the erosion, or maybe the complete abandonment, of the Rule of Law in this country. I am also shocked that so few people “get it” in terms of what a limited government and respect for individual rights means.
To a person who reads and understands the Constitution and has a fair grasp of history, I am quite frankly frightened by the path our political leadership is taking. Roman Republic, banana republic, whatever parallel you draw. We are going that way.
But hey, we still have “Dancing with the Stars” to watch.
It's hardly surprising, though, considering that the concurrent fulfillment of the signs given in Matthew 24 and Daniel 12, and the reestablishment of Israel (Deut. 30, Hos. 3) are ushering in the end times at last (c. mid-1960s ± 10 years). The last full generation is now adult.
I told my wife last night that our grandson, the Cubs fan, and his little sister will not have grandchildren of their own. The end will come before they are 50 and perhaps well before then, considering that television and internet now enable the gospel truly and inevitably to be preached for the first time in history to every people-group on earth, which is the only significant unaccomplished event still preventing Jesus' return, barring some adjustment of Israel's status.
No man can know the day or hour, but we now know the century, soon will know the decade, and eventually will learn the year, then the month, and then the week.
I don't see how the damage is repaired once Obama finally leaves the White House. It's like the "nuclear option" - once taken future administrations will want to have the same power.
You are quite correct: power corrupts. But you're assuming Obama will actually leave the White House. We'll see--a lot can happen in twenty-two months.
Alternatively, he could transition to the UN, which has always seemed like a suitable platform for the Antichrist; bear in mind that the USA does not appear as such in prophecy. If indeed that's who he turns out to be, then his current seemingly incomprehensible actions in the Mideast will serve as the inevitable predicate for his actions then. If it's not him, then he will have laid a working foundation for whoever it is.
