The fact there are more queers in prison is relevant to the fact that homosexuality is a mental disorder and is akin to other criminal tendencies.

I wasn’t trying to equate it with survival. I’m only saying that in certain circumstances, people do things they wouldn’t do in ordinary circumstances. I don’t have the statistics but I would venture that most prisoners go back to being heterosexual upon release, just as most concentration camp survivors eschew moldy bread and rats in favor of more conventional fare.

Exactly. Compare ‘prison gay’ to ‘LUGs’. As soon as the environment enables a reversion to normal behavior, they walk away from homosexual encounters.
