One of the best little bakeries in our town (Christian) suddenly stopped baking cakes......they sell everything else, but no cakes...
...and I think it’s for this very reason.
Yes, and you believe everything you read in the news don’t you? You are being a bit silly, they closed for the problems that they faced and you probably know it but are try to find other reasons I’d guess!
That’s okay, many more are following your lead, after all, nothing involving the First Amendment here... Seems the normal path actually...
You are despicable with your asinine response! You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about nor the result of this action...geez, you are despicable!
You sound extremely disappointed that inspire of the gay boycott, this bakery was able to make a profit.
I think you're on the wrong forum.
Too bad that you not only believe the media but believe that they are not being sacrificed to political beliefs. Not much sense in arguing with you if you believe that so all I can say is go for it, as you are going. The rest of us will continue to think that the Constitution protects us from such overt prosecution (a bit much maybe, but can’t think of another way to describe it).
The good thing here is that while we disagree, the First Amendment allows us to do so.
I have to say that your response is a bit creepy here..geez!
Are you anti-gay or just creepy?
I appreciate their weariness but the sad fact is that this will only embolden the wicked, who will see this shabby episode as a victory.
I saw an interview with this baker grandmother on FNC one day not long ago. Maybe just a week or so.
She knew the gay guy that wanted the cake. She and he had become friends over the years and she had made him all kinds of cool and yummy stuff. She just had to draw the line at this commitment of gays thing. He was okay with it and all was fine until someone called someone else. Then all hell broke loose. Literally.
The two gay guys that wanted the cake wanted nothing to do with any complaints. This thing took on a life of its own through sheer vileness of a faction within that gay community.
I personally don’t give a rats pattooty what gays do as long as they leave me out of it but I can say one thing with certainty. I would never trust a gay person; male or female.
Used to be that any business could refuse service to anyone for any reason...no longer it seems, even when it has to do with the Constitutionl...so,
I guess that means anything goes...
Yeah, unfortunately, that is the way these thing start, no animosity toward anyone, just sticking up for their personal beliefs. That is the way it seems to go these days and then the Gay lawyers get involved and all hell breaks loose. Political correctness costs money these days..especially when it involves gays, women, and transsexuals.
Growing weary to say the least!
No First Amendment here.
Well the government didn’t get involved. They didn’t get arrested for their views. First Amendment is really for government staying out of opinions. A business doesn’t really have First Amendment Rights. I wish the founders would have added civilian businesses too, but alas they missed that part.
From the article it appears thatthey weathered the storm and were doing well when they closed for other personal reasons.
The BIG POINT that they gays make about gay marriage is that it doesn’t affect you if you’re straight. While I think it affects everyone at least indirectly (especially future generations), here is a case where it DEFINITELY AFFECTED SOMEONE DIRECTLY.
Had gay marriage not existed, their store would still be open - I will remember this case forever, and always use it.
The fudge-packers have redefined “hate” as “not agreeing with us!”
He live-trapped a rat, soaked it in gasoline, lit it on fire, and released it back into the tunnels the rats had dug to access the coop....
The results? No more rats!
The corollary? The bakery in this case was the rat that was trapped, and made into "an example" for the rest who would dare invade gay territory...
In a similar vein, my new t-shirt that I wear for my daughters reads:
Way to go queers. I really hope this aggression comes back around on your heads tens times as harsh and furious.
I didn’t know it was a Christian bakery, I thought it was a Christian owned bakery.
I’m so uninformed.
