Japan's by-passed island garrisons in the Pacific will serve as "rallying points" when Japan launches a "three-dimensional" offensive soon, the Japanese Domei agency said ...

... in a phase of the war "to arrive shortly" the Japanese Navy would play a dominant role. "That is has not yet struck in force does not mean it is anxious to avoid battle; it means the Combined Japanese Fleet is waiting for a strategic framework to be completed before it steps in," Domei said.

I'm so glad they cleared that up. If you were thinking the Japanese Navy doesn't want to fight - or that they don't have anything to fight with, well, you're just wrong!

Maybe #2 Son will get a job when the "strategic framework" is completed ...

Bottom of page 12, “Swedish Chair at Upsala College”

“... a campaign to raise $100,000 to endow a King Gustav V professorship in Swedish had been completed ...”

Upsala College of East Orange, New Jersey, closed in 1995. I wonder if any colleges in the United States now have a professor of Swedish.
