TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Tens of thousands of Israelis are gathering at a Tel Aviv square under the banner "Israel wants change" and calling for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be replaced in March 17 national elections.

Saturday night's rally at Rabin Square is the highest profile demonstration yet in the run-up to the election. It is organized by a non-profit organization seeking to change Israel's priorities and refocus on health, education, housing and the country's cost of living.

Very short blurb.

Notice they don't say who this non-profit group is?

Can't help but wonder if this is Obama's group sent earlier last month or so.

There was ALREADY an existing group who had been opposed to Netanyahu for quite a while, and some of the campaign operatives that worked on Obama’s campaign, went to work on the opposition’s campaign in Israel.

There is significant opposition to Netanyahu in Israel.

Anyone but Bibi: why Israeli election is unlikely to be easy for Netanyahu
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/dec/05/anyone-but-bibi-israel-election-netanyahu-poll

Almost two-thirds of Israelis would prefer a prime minister other than Binyamin Netanyahu, according to a surprise new poll that suggests the incumbent may be more vulnerable than previously thought.

The survey for the Jerusalem Post and its Hebrew sister paper, Ma’ariv, was taken on Wednesday, a day after Netanyahu announced snap elections, and appears to undermine earlier polls that suggest his re-election will be straightforward. It also points to a complicated, febrile and unpredictable election campaign.

Asked whether they wanted Netanyahu to remain prime minister 60% of respondents said no, 34% said yes and 6% said they did not know. But the poll did indicate that the most popular party remains Netanyahu’s Likud – suggesting a gulf between the popularity of him and that of his party.

Ben Caspit, commenting on his paper’s poll in Friday’s Ma’ariv, is not surprised.

“The Netanyahu loyalists, his hardcore, still believe in him [...] The rest of the public, a large number of Israelis, does not want him.”

In large part, say some analysts, that has been driven by the mood music of the electorate. With peace efforts with the Palestinians frozen, the economy ever more in the doldrums and Israel feeling more isolated, a sense of despondency has crept in.

The new poll comes as it becomes clear that the election on 17 March is increasingly seen as a referendum on Netanyahu’s time in office rather than, as he would like to frame it, an opportunity to find a stable governing coalition from the right. It also presents a rally cry for his opponents: “Anyone but Bibi” (Netanyahu’s nickname).

“Ex-Mossad chief at anti-Netanyahu rally: Our leadership scares me more than our enemies”

The nature of Israeli politics dictates that opposition groups must be bought off with sometimes significant roles in any regime. So the PM is often at odds with his lower officials. He puts up with it for the support of their group. If his coalition drops below a certain level it triggers a new election. So, high level and former high level people often do and say things that would make Pelosi and Reid blush.

Fear and self-loathing in Tel-Aviv much? Besides, those palestinians are really your friends and don’t want to drive you in to the Med now do they?

The ‘non-profit’ is V15, the organization supported by the US State Department and Obama’s Democrat organizers. Former Mossad head Meir Dagan was featured speaker.

Pray for Israel and for Bibi.

The evil Obama has his tentacles all over this.

A win for Bibi, is a repudiation of the evil 0

That sounds like what a typical Democrat here would say about a Republican. Same BS tactics.

Yet another wordy article containing zero information. The criticism isn’t against the poster, but against the author of the article.

OK, so some people don’t like Bibi, but they don’t say what it is they don’t like, or what they’d like to see instead.

There are tons and tons of articles which fail to clearly state the problem, or a solution to it.

Looks like poor journalism exists in Israel, too.
