Britain may broadcast the financial secrets of Russia’s ruling elite as part of the information war against the Putin regime, the Foreign Secretary has indicated.

Philip Hammond said he was interested by the idea of publicising the wealth of the Russian president’s inner circle in order to embarrass them in front of their people, as part of the response to the ongoing incursion into eastern Ukraine.

Cute trick, but where is the info coming from?

It from British banks, then I can’t imagine this will do anything positive for investor confidence in those banks.

It's worth considering if what's good for British banks trumps what's good for the Russian people, from whom all of this loot is stolen. And, as a conservative that puts principles over banks and big business, I don't think the privacy of ill-gotten gains is a concern we should be trouble much by.

Yeah, those British bankers should just stick it to old Vlad Putin.

Russians are weak and easily defeated, and they don’t even put up much of a fight.

At least that’s what the Germans thought before WWII.

I’m all for it. But at the same time let’s see where all Ukraine’s money has gone. Let’s see Porkyshenko’s records.

Uh, Mr. Hammond, check your tea and soup for Polonium.

Just a suggestion...

First, the Russian slave soldiers were killed by the millions in WWII and had no choice but to keep dying by the many millions until they wore Germany down with American weapons and Russian cannon fodder, but today Russia is alone and Germany is part of a vast military alliance of not only the WWII allies, but of the Warsaw Pact nations, and alliance of 28 nations called NATO.

Also, Russia wouldn’t need to be squashed, unless they attack us, and remember that in WWII, they didn’t do very well on their own when they first started WWII by attacking Finland and Poland.

Why? the world is under threat from Putin invading us, not Ukraine.

Estimates run from 40 billion to 70 billion, that Putin has looted as leader of Russia, and the latest accusation is that he has stolen 200 billion.

The man may have gone from KGB officer, to running the modern KGB, to looting Russia itself and becoming the richest man on earth.
