It has correctly been observed that it is impossible to save someone who does not truly wish to be saved! Whether drugs, alcohol or some other addiction, frustration awaits the individual engaged in an intervention with a loved one who is so deeply into a destructive behavior that he or she is not reachable. It is the definition of “futility”.

After 40+ years of attempting to reach my fellow citizens with the news that if we didn’t learn, understand, apply to our own lives and, most importantly, ENFORCE on those ordinary fellow citizens we periodically assign to go to the various seats of government to operate the CONSTITUTIONAL system the Founders sought to leave us, we would ultimately find ourselves precisely where we now find ourselves.

That we are not already further down the rat hole of total tyranny convinces me that, just as when Mr. Franklin reminded the others in Philadelphia that “...God governs in the affairs of men...”, despite our having turned our backs on Him, God is STILL governing in our affairs, hoping against hope that we will finally “get it.”

We still haven’t gotten it as too many of us silently watch the nation wiser men have called “A shining city on a hill” and “The last best hope for mankind” continue to disrespect and disregard Him and His laws and descend into a place from which few nations in history have ever escaped. It’s a well settled tenet of jurisprudence that silence is assent and that those who sleep on their rights forfeit them!

Ronald Reagan spoke eloquently of the problem thus:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our childrens’ children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

If a nation’s citizens — especially the young —  can be indoctrinated to the point where they reject or loathe the symbols, customs, mores, faith and traditions that made their nation – warts and all – great, that nation will be ‘fundamentally transformed’ into something to which they would long to return but, because they are now slaves, cannot.
   Will ours be the generation about which President spoke? If so, may I  suggest cremation?
 That would preclude any children who survive the ongoing government school socialist indoctrination from digging us up to spit in our faces!

I’ve been doing what I could for the past 4+ decades to warn those around me of what was ahead. As I did so, taking time away from my family doing what I saw as my duty as I also struggled to support my family, I was torn between two conflicting questions.

One was – and still is — are those around me who either refuse to grasp the severity of our situation (or don’t care!) worth my exertions and those of so many of my like-minded friends?
The other is that if we continue to TRY, could we help make that critical difference that will buy us enough time for the “slow learners” to come around and make the necessary corrections to turn the tide in our favor?

That’s really what the eternal struggle between good and evil has always boiled down to, isn’t it?

So we shall fight on to our graves. Why?

Because the alternative is unacceptable, to the extent our finite resources and resolve allow, we MUST!

I once heard a saying that intellect without God only leads to intellectual barbarism. I believe it.
