I would imagine that earthworms are one of the earlier life forms, so they were probably crisscrossing all over Pangea before the continents split apart again. (Probably on the supercontinent, Rodinia? before Pangea.).

My understanding was that the earthworms were vastly different types. Mostly huge things, multiple feet long.
