I’m not sure my comment was entirely fair. Supporting mcCain in 08 was still a thousand times better than the alternative, as we have sadly learned, (and mcCain’s nuttiness was not nearly as apparent to some of us who had not closely followed his career - its blossomed a lot since of course).
