Eaton has a somewhat dubious reputation amongst his fellow senior officers. He is possibly the only guy that the press could possibly have found to express this viewpoint. The Senate of the United swears to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. Unlike the oath of a Commissioned Officer, the Senate oath is silent on the pledge to follow the orders of the Commander in Chief.

Mutiny is a rebellion against legal authority. The President has no authority over the Senate and has demonstrated again and again that he is not faithfully executing the laws of the United States. His policy with Iran is reckless, feckless and will likely result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of American citizens.

Paul Eaton needs to go back to being the jerk that he always has been. Here’s what he has been up to:

He currently serves as Senior Adviser to the National Security Network, a progressive Washington, DC think tank that focuses on foreign policy and defense issues.

After retiring from the Army in 2006 Eaton was a frequent guest on various media outlets, where he often criticized the Bush administration’s prosecution of the Iraq War. In 2007, Eaton appeared in a political ad for VoteVets.org, similar to the ones prepared by John Batiste. [1] Eaton asserted that President Bush did not heed the advice given by his military commanders.[citation needed] Eaton appeared on Bill Maher’s talkshow and spoke out strongly against those who launched the Iraq war. In 2008 Eaton served as an advisor to Senator Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Following Clinton’s concession of the Democratic primary, Eaton has made several appearances in support of Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

Any further questions?

"Well, how would he describe Barack Obama. Patriot? Please."

weeeelllllll…….

"During his first presidential campaign in 2008, Mr. Obama used a secret back channel to Tehran to assure the mullahs that he was a friend of the Islamic Republic, and that they would be very happy with his policies. The secret channel was Ambassador William G. Miller, who served in Iran during the shah’s rule, as chief of staff for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and as ambassador to Ukraine."

...and this general is one of his whores.

I didn't think a Major General was dumb as a stump. The only explanation is that he's a Quisling.

The phony outrage over this letter makes NO SENSE. The senators certainly had the right to express their opinion in an open letter available to all. What difference does it make if the SAME INFO is provided to the Iranians in writing?

Where was Major Gen. Paul D. Eaton when John Kerry did this?

He was a Yearling (Sophomore) at West Point.

So he was in a position to be very aware of Kerry’s treason at the time and he’s been silent about it for 44 years. Quisling scum!

Yep, left wing organization. I do not take anything they say as legit.

Probably not. As a Plebe he would have been required to know and recite the front page of the New York Times. As a Yearling he was probably worried about Physics, Math, and Electrical Engineering.

Hey Eaton you jackass, Mutiny? You’ve been in the childlike world of the military base a little too long. Congress has no responsibility WHATSOEVER to fall into line behind Obama or any president like good little soldiers. They are not subordinate to the presidency, so they cannot mutiny.

Read the constitution jackass, you only swore to uphold it.

This guy was actually a General. Amazing.

Right. All the letter said was don’t get too excited about a deal with the Kenyan, because in this country, ostensibly, we have a legal process which demands ratification by the Senate. Nothing controversial. Facts any half wit could have learned in a basic American civics text.

That’s right, decent “right wing” organizations would have none of this general...so he went on this organization’s payroll and his puppet voice speaks their words.

As someone headed for a military career at the height of the Vietnam War it’s not likely he would be ignorant of the anti-war protests and its most famous uniformed protester and treason committed by an officer of the Navy. And he’s had 44 years to hear about it.

“Coming from a military guy that understood the seniority of the military (with the President as the commander in chief) I can see his viewpoint.”

DO you think a General should know that the US congress and Senate are not subordinates to the president, and do not fall under ANY chain of command? DO you think he should know that an individual Senator does not have a superior he takes commands from?

I know its a really high bar. Its middle school civics class stuff/

You have just trumped his ace. Very nicely done!

You might be surprised to learn how ignorant those of the Post Vietnam era are about much of what happened, particularly if it put a Liberal in a bad light. West Pointers and General Officers included.

I wouldn’t blame the general for that one. He and they got hamstrung from above.

I would blame him however for being ignorant of US Federal Civics 101.
