If he only had more power he could solve all their problems.

They probably didn’t have much of a choice - and in any case, he’s been arresting and removing any legislator who opposed his program, so probably those who were left standing are all on his side.

Hype over fake EOs doesn't do anyone any favors on real information. This is what a REAL power grab looks like.

No hype, just the real deal of dictatorial powers.

The Venezuelan parliament has approved a law giving President Nicolas Maduro the power to legislate by decree

They keep passing these laws authorizing rule by decree, but since Chavez took office they have never stopped ruling by decree.

The EOs have as much power as those who follow them give them.

And Venezuela was doing this under Chávez. The first of those legislative moves in 2000 was called “La Ley Habilitante” (Enabling Act).

EOs here (and there haven't been in a while) don't fare so well, since they only affect the executive branch, and even now, the administration is under a stay by the judiciary, by a lawsuit brought by the states.

Does Venezuela have soverign states?

Meanwhile our presidente doesn’t even bothering asking Congress - he just goes ahead and rules by decree.
