Who was the last guy on the Right to do his homework and knew what he and the other side was really all about?
IMO, the last good guy to do that was Reagan. Few like him before or since.
Reagan stole the base right from under the Democrats, and the same thing could happen again. I don’t think Walker is the guy to do it, he’s ticked off the unions which were a key constituency for Reagan (having spent years as a union boss himself). I think that a good strong man of action might be called for, somebody like Perry if he would stop tripping over his own tongue. That’s not t o say someone like Kirsten Gillibrand might not steal it away from everybody.
