Quite right. It is silly to identify modern leftists with many of the socialists who played a roll in the foundation of the modern State of Israel. Sadly, the left in Israel today is NOT Zionist.
I will take a socialist Zionist over a conservative who does not support the State of Israel (hear that Ron/Rand Paul?).
