“Societies in both countries have signed off on these things to a certain extent. I agree with you there.”

That was really my main point: the law-abiding who are closest to it accept it as a part of life. Until that changes, nothing else will. The only alternative solution I see is a level of authority that we no longer have the stomach for. Containing it is the best we can really hope for.

There is a high level of frustration. People don’t know what to do about it. Others are just too busy with life to be concerned about it.

Those with a lot of time on their hands getting a free ride either don’t care, or they don’t want their gravy train to end.
