SOCHACZEW, Poland (AP) — U.S. air defense troops are training rapid deployment of Patriot missile launchers in Poland amid concerns that the conflict between Russia-backed rebels and government forces in Ukraine is threatening the security in the region.

On Saturday, at a test range in Sochaczew near Warsaw, two U.S. soldiers demonstrated for reporters the procedure of emplacement of a Patriot launching station of 16 missiles, as part of their week-long exercise.

Another Obola fail. Refusing the Patriot placements when he came into office against our agreement. Now putting our troops in harms way and escalating tensions in the Cold War.

His first fail on missile defense was right after he was enthroned. Hussein stabbed the Poles in the back immediately by announcing that we wouldn’t put any missile defense in Poland until after he left office. The Poles really went out on a limb to agree to host our SM-3 interceptors (like we have in Alaska and California). They really pissed off the Russians and part of Hussein’s and Cankles’ “reset” was to back off putting interceptors there.

He stabbed Poland in the back even before he was ‘more flexible’.

He calls it the European Phased Adaptive Approach - EPAA. Apparently, he’s going to phase it until after Poland is threatened and then ‘adapt’.

Kind of like overthrowing governments for the caliphate and then ‘adapting’ to the new sharia rule...?

The Patriot system is only local. What we agreed with the Poles under W was countrywide protection. Until Hussein.

Won't help the UK or US any.

The U.S. Has No Defense Against A Russian Nuclear Attack. Really.

That Polish missile defense back in the day was supposed to be only about protection from a Missile out of Pakistan or Iran. I believe it because they were only talking about a very few missiles. Like 20 or something. Clearly not aimed at stopping a Russian attack.

So my question, is why weren’t the Russians simply part of the center? Its easy to imagine an Islamic missile heading towards Moscow too. That would have been instant buy in.

To answer your question about why the Russians didn’t buy into missile defense...
1) If they did buy in, then their networks would be part of ours. They’ve been trying since the Star Wars speech to get their hands on that technology. We’re at least smart there.

2) They don’t trust us.

3) They’ve got their own ‘star wars’ program with the Voronezh radars and Iskander missiles. They’re trying to keep up.

4) A defense radar in Poland would protect our European allies. The current interceptors we have (in California and Alaska) *might* protect some of our allies. But the threat is there.

Lots of reasons why we haven’t tied in to the Russian missile defense network. As it is, our missile defense is not robust enough to withstand more than a couple missiles - certainly not a barrage from Russia or China - but maybe enough for North Korea or Iran.

Like you said, with only a couple dozen interceptors, we could only stop a few missiles. I guess that’s why Hagel ordered another dozen or so, but still...

If we really wanted to secure the country from missile attack we could. But it would be VERY expensive. And it would piss off the Russians and Chinese. Go figure.

What a shame it would be to protect the nation from all threats foreign. When we can’t protect against the domestic ones...

K.

It would be un-diplomatic of us to upset the strategic balance. I’m trying to find logic in that..

As it turns out, the Masters may not really care about their people.

As Hillary Clinton stated, at this point in time, what difference does it make. They are killing us all already. Fukushima buddy. Japan just verified with muon detection, 100% meltdown of reactor core in number 1. Number 2, near 100 %. And you can guess what happened in #3. Geanie is out of bottle. Nothing holding em back now. And BTW, the number one country with Oligarchs donating to the Clinton Foundation while she was Secretary of State, Ukraine. Home to Chernobyl, second worse nuclear meltdown in history.
