The OT counts towards their pension retirement calculation as well. As does any unused sick or vacation time, which AFAIK they can accrue without limit. So if you play the game right, your 75K base salary can score you six figure pension. Then the best players put in for a disability claim so most of the pension ends up tax free. Some minor reforms have been put in place to reduce the rape, but not nearly enough by far.

I can only speak about the CHP. Managers, Lt. and above, do not get overtime. Overtime for officers and sgts. is not computed into the retirement. Unused vacation is cashed out and unused sick leave is credited as as service time, not cashed out.
