I am profoundly disappointed in Connecticut College senior Michael Fratt for his childish lack of understanding of the meaning and vital importance of liberty and free expression. The most important questing arising out of this incident is whether Michael Fratt will ever actually grow up to become an adult, or whether he (?) will be forever doomed to an unenlightened and sophomoric existence.
Michael Fratt is apparently a fragile flower, a wounded puppy, a babe-in-short-pants who must be sheltered from truth-telling, lest he develop an attack of the vapors and faint on the nearest couch (after waiting to make sure that there is a nearby smartphone camera available to record his dive, of course). It's mind-boggling to consider that Michael Fratt may actually be registered to vote, and may even be allowed to do other big-boy things like driving a car or getting a job.
Normally society expects juveniles like Fratt to eventually be mature enough to take on such demanding responsibilities. But no doubt little Mikey will grow up someday to become a full-fledged brown-shirted fascist, burning books and censoring the truth along with the rest of his Neanderthal comrades.
(Let's hope that Michael Fratt never reads this post, because I fear that if he does, he may knock his little sippy cup off of his high-chair table, or kick his castle made out of building blocks into a zillion pieces, or he may even threaten to hold his breath until someone pays off his college loans or something.)
Maybe little Mikey Fratt needs to hide in the Safe Space, with cookies, play-doh, blankies, pillows, coloring books, bubbles, and videos of frolicking puppies.
