At least 3 times a week, I spent my evenings at the local gasthaus, and we had continuing discussions about the race. Fortunately by that time, my German was very conversational, and allowed me to offer my perspective. I spoke of American civics, intermixed with American and world history. I kept driving home the point that the world is a safer place when America is strong. That theme particularly holds true to this day.
A couple of weeks after Inauguration Day, and after our hostages had been released, I was invited to sit at the Stammtische, a table reserved for family and close friends of the family. It's an honor that I continue to cherish.
I have not felt the same way about a candidate since Ronald Reagan. My vote will go to Ted Cruz, and no one else, and my tagline reinforces that thought.
Amen, Friend. GO TED!!!
