If I was the captain and realized what was about to happen I would have told everyone on board to go to the tail of the aircraft in order to shift the CG back toward the tail and disrupt the dive.

A little aerodynamics / weight and balance lesson for you:

What you suggest would cause a wing-stall and a quick rotate into a spin which would make the dive to the ground faster.

Of course if the Captain wanted to keep the passengers minds busy for a few minutes before their deaths playing musical chairs, then I guess that your plan would be beneficial....... sarc.

he just set the elevation to 100ft, speed to max and sat there

autopilot would easily compensate for the slowly shifting weight of passengers passing through an aisle
