"But, I expect to see more gov’t control and regulations proposed as a “solution” to the problem."

Will periodic govt. psych tests be mandatory for ALL transportation operators?

I suggest mandatory psych tests starting with:

Obama, ALL Democrats, ALL media talking heads, appointed czars of ALL federal agencies, and plenty more. The list would be endless.

Of course we know that Obama would start a list topped by ALL Conservatives. Yes,

Mandatory psych tests will accomplish nothing.

One person can lose their money, their family, have deaths of close friends/relatives and engage in psychological counseling and drugs but will never harm a fly.

Another person gets rejected for a date and drives a car into a crowd of people.

The Founders saw the secret....we are all individuals. One size never fits all, which is why socialism or medicine always fail. It is why we could all eat the same diet and we would still have obesity, high cholesterol, and heart disease.

Tap into the individual human spirit and embrace it. There is the solutions we seek.

SAC (Strategic Air Command) used to have a PRP (Personnel Reliability Program) for aircrew members (bomber, tanker, or missileers).

So, in an ever more 'careful' and socialist society, yes.

Stupid idiots. There is a simple tech solution ...

Provide two unlock codes for the door — one known only to the pilots and one known to the pilots and the cabin crew. The difference obviously being that the pilot code always works, whereas the cabin crew code can be vetoed from inside the cockpit. Sounds like a matter of a few lines of code.
