With the ‘new’ generation of police there are more instances of resorting to the firearm first before other non-lethal means.

The prosecutor is correct in charging this officer.

Many of today’s problems in police departments can be traced to lowered hiring standards and recruitment of persons unfit to be officers.

I agree, you are making a sound point. Anything goes should never be allowed for police recruitment.

Someone else on the forum noted that one of the New York police officers, involved in the controversial death of the heavy guy put in restraint, had full sleeve tattoos on both his arms and legs. I looked at the footage, and realized this was right - at his cuffs and socks, one could see it. He looked like a gang member wearing a police uniform.
