According to a recent poll conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner for the Human Rights Campaign, gay and lesbian people are now more popular than evangelical Christians.
The survey of 1000 likely 2016 voters nationwide asked respondents about their feelings toward gay and lesbian people and evangelical Christians. Fifty-three percent said they had favorable feelings toward gays and lesbians (up 13 points from 2011) while only 42% felt the same way about evangelical Christians. When it came to unfavorable feelings, only 18% claimed to have them toward gays and lesbians while 28% feel that way about evangelical Christians.
We’ve been told that the LGBT community is a minority in need of special legal rights and protections, but as this group continues to gain acceptance and win legal battles nationwide, another group — evangelical Christians — is finding itself increasingly marginalized and discriminated against. Now that the LGBT community is winning the nation’s popularity contest (and Christians are losing) maybe we ought to rethink who the real powerbrokers are in this country.
Evangelical Christians do not have major media industries churning out deliberately deceitful propaganda designed to make them look “normal” to the public.
Yeah, because everyone want to talk to pollsters about depraved sex nazis.
I call BS on the results.
The person administering this poll was gay, no doubt.
Public opinion on homosexuals will change on a dime, the support they currently enjoy is skin deep.

The fact that over $800K was raised for the pizzeria in Indiana makes me question this poll.
do the same poll but instead of “evangelical Christians” use the word “Catholics”

Manipulation of polls by whom is called & how the questions are phrased is an art practiced by the Democrats.
I hang up on most polls.
If accurate, just evidence of moral decay in this country.
What else would you expect, what with two-plus decades of the popular media building up gays as heroic and admirable, while portraying Evangelical Christians as mean, intolerant Hitler-wannabes?

How about we take another poll comparing the popularity of homosexuals versus blacks? And then we could do one comparing muslims versus born-again Christians.

Let’s see- where did you get the people to poll from? Los Angeles, Californification, Mass, Rhode Island The Florida Keys?
Can’t remember where, but I saw a poll just yesterday where people’s tolerance of homosexuality almost directly correlated to their church attendance. In other words, the more often someone said they went to church, the more likely they were to endorse various gay rights. My first thought was that a lot of the regular church goers must be going to pretty liberal churches, but on second thought I’m not so sure.
Hubby and I go to a very conservative church, but we see homosexuals as fully human in a way that some of my unchurched in-laws do not. And thinking back, the most rabid anti-homosexual people I’ve known in my own life were unchurched conservatives who may or may not have even believed in God.
The only gay basher I have ever known, however, was a liberal in a family of liberals. The family found out he liked to beat up gays when he got separated from his group and got beat up by another group that mistook him for being gay! My friend (the boy’s aunt) never did figure out why he did that, but I suspect the liberal argument that gay bashers are secretly afraid that they’re gay really does explain what drives some gay bashers — namely, the liberal ones. ;)

yeah, a group for homos that was co-founded by a man that is currently charged with sexually molesting an underage child.
These folks will burn in hell.
