I graduated from UMichigan College of Engineering some decades ago (in the 60’s), and then an MS from the grad school. I can remember trying to get through the lines of protesters into West Engineering to get to my classes (which of course I was paying for). Back then it was (of course) against defense research. Somehow I managed through all the disruptions to graduate summa cum laude, which amazes me to this day.
Not much has changed.
I used to contribute a lot of money to both Engineering and the grad school.
I gave up a few years ago. Money will eventually get the attention of any university administrator.
