KINGSTON, Jamaica President Obama said Thursday that the State Department had completed its review of whether to remove Cuba from its list of nations that sponsor terrorism, but he added that he had not yet received a final recommendation and was not ready to announce a decision.
Our emphasis has been on the facts, Mr. Obama said of considering Cubas removal from the State Departments terrorism list, where it has remained for more than 30 years. We want to make sure that given that this is a powerful tool to isolate those countries that genuinely do support terrorism, that when we make those designations, weve got strong evidence that, in fact, thats the case.
He added, As circumstances change, then that list will change as well.
Removing Cuba from the list would clear a major obstacle to the re-establishment of diplomatic relations, as the two former political enemies advance toward their closest ties in half a century.
The timing left open the possibility that he could announce a final decision at the Summit of the Americas opening in Panama on Friday, where he hopes to highlight momentum toward the diplomatic opening with Cuba. . .

Hurry, hurry Odungo and get this done before you leave office!! Hurry hurry hurry!!!!! I’ve never seen Odungo move so fast.. Huh huhhh I’m out of breath!
About the same as the proverbial hell's snowball.
But the review was based upon the 'facts', doncha know.
Wont’ be long before Cubans will be voting (and voting ‘Democrat’) in our elections.
This is his plot to give Gitmo away.
I’ll agree with that. Odungo has orders from his Mullahs to ensure America doesn’t have a place offshore to house it’s enemy combatants. Odungo obliges, so Cuba gets Gitmo.
Cuban agents beat the crap out of some Americans in Cuba today. I think they call this ‘the welcome wagon’ in Cuba.
...along with the conclusion.
The “fix” was in when Obama got elected. Nothing new here.
His Rev. Wright is a big fan of Castro and Communist Cuba’s education system, and he has visited that prison island a number of times (never saying a single word about the communist oppression there, esp. against black human rights advocates, now political prisoners).
If you like your terrorism list, you can keep your terrorism list.
Meanwhile all of Obama’s campaign associates are opening GM franchises and Citibank branches throughout Cuba.
