You know, I’m getting sick and tired of having this stuff helplessly rammed down our throat, as if you and I are supposed to rise up on every such occasion and stop the madness.

Don’t we have control of Congress? Are Republicans in Congress getting paid to do anything? You know, if Republicans are that timid and so desperate to be loved by the NYTimes that they refuse to do ANYTHING meaningful, then one by one they should be booted out of office.

Give me a few more Tom Cottons and Ted Cruzes and let’s do something — ANYTHING!

They get paid by the special interests they work for. They don’t work for you and me.

Sadly, the Republicans can be blocked by a minority of senators and the president. An aggressive, unified senate majority could override the filibuster, but the majority party is weak and divided. They lack the will to fight, and even if they did, the president could still block everything.

The sad truth is very little can be done until Barack Obama leaves office. In the meantime, he controls the regulatory state and can have them do pretty much whatever he wants by simply interpreting existing law as broadly as possible.

You don't understand. Let me explain it to you....

"It's not the right time."
"There is nothing we can do."
"If we try to do anything, the government might shut down."
"The media will criticize us if we do anything."
"Let's wait until we have Congress AND the Presidency. Then we can do something about it."

See...It's not that hard to understand. Once you repeat this mantra over and over enough times you will be able to use it as a response to anything your constituents ask you to do.

Of course, this is only the current mantra. When we didn't control the Senate it was a little different. If we ever control the Presidency it will be a little different like from 2000-2002.....

"Now that we have full control, we would love to get to those issues but these issues are more important and we wouldn't want to lose our mandate and all this good will we have."

We each have our different red lines. For me it was Obamacare. It’s just funny to me now, in a morbid way.

I see what is happening clearly, but it is because I have not been indoctrinated by TV since 1997. So many people are hopelessly lost, and they vote.

We’re in this all the way to the bottom.

I think every republican in every legislature ought to receive a copy of your post in letter form, repeatedly.

"Don’t we have control of Congress?"

Try talking to your Congresscritter. Try asking a question. Try any contact at all. They insulate themselves from the Hoi Polloi because the HP is dirty, unwashed and dumb.
