I sometimes wonder how informed Western Christians are about what is happening to their brothers. I have never heard a sermon on it, although one of elders in our church, who has a military background, did mention the atrocities briefly one Sunday.

Attending a missions-oriented fellowship helps with the flow of information, I found. Needs to be seriously involved and not giving just lip-service and pocket change to projects we believe have God's approval and support. One get lots of first-hand information from the Christians workers out-of-country and the visitors from other locales.
Want a good Bible lesson? Watch Charles Stanley at InTouch.ORG. Want to get busy pleasing the Lord? Join efforts with a decent-sized fellowship of Christians who want to WORK hard for the joyful spread of the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ and no other religion, starting in your own community and branching out, always sensitive to whither and where the Holy Spirit is leading.
(Hint: It doesn't always appear to be organized until it all comes together and it isn't always something you are guaranteed will be successful in a way you can see and realize...but it will be.)
