Boston Marathon bombing survivor crosses the finish line with prosthetic leg

On April 15, 2013 Gregory was standing at the finish line of the Boston Marathon when two bombs went off in quick succession, leaving her severely injured. After 35 surgeries and an eventual amputation, Gregory has finally come full circle.

On Monday, she ran the last 3.5 miles of the Boston Marathon. Gregory told ESPN that she initially planned to run the whole thing, but that her doctor told her last week she’d do too much damage to her body.

Last Wednesday, a year to the day from the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, Gregory wrote on her Facebook page about her experiences getting to where she is today. Here is just a piece of what she had to say: “To remember what it felt like to be bleeding out on the pavement, wondering if I would ever see my child’s smile again. In a matter of minutes, my entire world changed. Everything I knew was literally blown to pieces, and I was forced to start picking them up one by one….A few days from now I will be going back to that same pavement on Boylston Street. The pavement where I thought for sure I would die, and the pavement a year ago, I was pushed around on in a wheelchair at the 1k Tribute Walk. ”

Prayers for her. Amazing courage, like all the soldiers who have had to do the same. I’m not sure I could make it.

What’s with the media’s inability to draft a coherent headline? According to this headline the runner was accompanied by a prosthetic leg, not that the runner was using one.

I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to know where he found the leg.

"I knew a man with a wooden leg named Smith".
"What was the name of his other leg?"

In Wyoming — you can’t hang a man with a wooden leg.

Wow....kudos to her....

She looked like she was in a lot of pain crossing the finish line in the video...

I can hardly imagine what she went though...

Of course not. The knee joint won't bend that far!

Interesting. I learned a new word.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt and taking your post as nothing other than a lame attempt at humor.
