The Times somehow found it extraordinary that a conservative Republican would be willing to have a conversation about foreign policy with people who are homosexual. It is only in the Times’ strange caricature of conservatism that that is the case.

I like two things about Cruz’s attitude to the media: (1) he fights back; and (2) he does it with Reagan-style humor, never seeming peevish or wound-too-tight.

Interesting questions you raise. Wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of people think that you must save money by filing jointly. Not always true.

But it’s not only tax benefits - we’ve seen a lot of patients come through lately who are covered under someone else’s insurance plan. We always ask what their relationship to the insured is and they generally state “partner”. Separating insurance from the employer and letting each person get their own portable policy would seem to solve that issue, however. Doubt if we ever see any changes to the income tax issue, at least in my remaining lifetime.

That’s what I want to hear on the 28th that the supreme court says it’s a state matter, therefore avoiding a hot potatoe issue, and punts it back to the states, therefore, settled law....

Send this thing, the matter of gay marriage back to the states legislatures, therefore you get to punt this thing back to the states avoiding the whole matter..
