Rubio signs Norquist tax pledge

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has signed a pledge opposing all tax increases as he jockeys for the White House, the third presidential candidate to make the oath to the popular conservative group Americans for Tax Reform.

“Senator Rubio is a longtime leader in the taxpayer movement. He signed and kept the Pledge as a Florida state House representative and as a United States Senator. By signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to the American people, Senator Rubio continues to protect American taxpayers against higher taxes,” Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, said in a statement. “Senator Rubio understands that government should be reformed so that it takes and spends less of the taxpayers’ money, and will oppose tax increases that paper over and continue the failures of the past."

Rubio joins fellow Republican Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.) and Ted Cruz (Texas), who signed the pledge last week.

Former Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush has said he wouldn’t sign any pledge if he decides to run for president, his spokeswoman Kristy Campbell told CNN.

Rubio reminds me of the high-school kid who decided to run for class president and came to school wearing a suit and tie.

I like the pledge.

Norquist and his Islamism need to be read out of the Conservative movement.

Anyone who signs a Norquist pledge loses my vote. Norquist is a big advocate of increased immigration and amnesty.

“Anyone who signs a Norquist pledge loses my vote.”

Cruz, Rubio, and Paul have signed it in the past week. I’m guessing most, if not all, of the other candidates will sign it. Bush claims he won’t, so I guess you can vote for him.

Big mistake for Ricky Ricardo to do any kind of business at all with that Islamist asshole Norquist.

Screw him; I put him right next to the Jebster and Krispie Kreme.

Doesn’t Rubio’s tax plan lower the highest marginal rate from 39% to 35% but also lowers the income level where it kicks in from $430,000 to $75,000? Is that not a 10% tax increase on every penny earned after $75,000 up to $430,000?

I will leave the Presidential ballot blank. I have held my nose to vote for McCain and Romney. Never again.

Because Obama and Hillary are obviously the only rational choices....If either had won, the argument might hold water - without that being the case it's all conjecture designed to help the Left take ever bigger chinks of our Freedoms.

Other potential 2016 GOP contenders, including Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee have all previously signed the pledge in some capacity.

I will withhold judgment on them until I hear they have signed the same pledge for 2016. If so, they won't get my vote. I have worked personally with Norquist at CPAC. He is an arrogant a$$hole who is bilking people to feather his own nest.

Give me a break. We have McConnell and Boehner giving Obama everything he wants. We took over control of Congress in 2014 with an historic victory. The Reps act like they lost and the Dems won. The GOP passed the Obama budget thru September, including keeping Obamacare funding going. They have done nothing to stop his executive amnesties of 2012 and 2015. They are agreeing to giving Obama greater authority to negotiate trade agreements and they are turning the Constitution on its head requiring two thirds of the Senate to stop the Iran deal. Loretta Lynch got confirmed as AG.

What difference does it really make if it is Hillary or Jeb Bush in the WH? Will you vote for Bush if he is the GOP nominee?

I won’t squander my right to vote. I will go to the polls but if there’s a GOPe candidate on the ticket, I will do a write in for Cruz.

Norquist is an Islamist infiltrator. I don’t care about his tax pledges. I care about the cheap labor importation that he’s pushing.

Rubio schemed with Schumer against the citizens, No one who considers themselves conservatives should consider Rubio.
