Fair enough. I just think that it’s possible for the editor of the publication to verify, as much as it is possible to do so, the veracity of the author’s claims, and I think it’s probably a greater benefit to all concerned that the author remain anonymous. He certainly has more to lose by being exposed than the public at large has to gain by knowing his identity.
The only thing to be gained is knowing that there really are homosexuals who hold these beliefs, which may be more important than we can imagine.
