Will Cruzers allow Cruz to expand beyond his base? Or, will they freak. For example, Palin supporters remained loyal because she never expanded beyond her base. Of course, that fried any chance of her to be a contender who would ever meet the needs or answer the interests of all Americans and their concerns.

We have to be braced for Cruz to move to the middle, or else enjoy the ride and accept the loss and elect Hillary.

We can not have it all, all the way, all the time, and net the win. We net the loss instead.

Sorry, but that’s typical RINO thinking. Did Reagan move to the middle in 1980 and 1984 in his two landslides? I don’t think so. People will vote for a candidate who’s genuine. If Ted is the nominee we know he’s get a media hit job every single day of the campaign, but if he says what he means and means what he says that will get him voters neither McCain or Romney could get, namely the Reagan Democrats. Save that thinking when you post on the CNN chatroom.

But what do you consider his base? What the media tells you? He actually has positions that can appeal to a broad audience if they listen to him, without giving up his core principles.

That is a wild theory, inaccurate, but wild.

The answer is not pandering to the middle. It’s simply showing the middle that their true position is solid conservative. I think that’s what Cruz will do

Good solid points....too many here seem to be concerned over single points/issues.

Think of it this way—are there any particular issues in his platform that aren’t ultimately mainstream?
