Baltimore prosecutor: Probable cause to file criminal charges in Gray’s death
Washington Post ^ | 5-1-15 | Lynh Bui and Dana Hedgpeth

State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby said Friday she has probable cause to file criminal charges in the much publicized death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray who died while in police custody.

Six officers, including a lieutenant and a sergeant, have been suspended after the incident. Gray suffered a spinal injury and died after riding in a police transport van that made several stops.

On Thursday, Baltimore’s police officials said they turned over their initial report to prosecutors — a day earlier than expected.

The knife was found to be legal by the DA AND they “found” it AFTER he was already in custody.

“The knife was not a switchblade and is lawful under Maryland law,” Mosby said, contradicting the charging documents.

Completely agree with you.

There are cases of police brutality which are totally concocted BS.

There are cases of police brutality which are in fact police brutality.

Nowhere near enough information on the Gray case to make a final decision yet, but thousands of people have been indicted for various crimes with much less evidence.

Too many people are making their own decisions and convicting just like the scum who riot and while I type this I see people protesting saying the cops did murder and yet have no frigging clue.

An independent investigation away from Baltimore should be done,. Not by this paid off hack who got money off GRAYS LAWYER

That’s if he even broke his back. See this is what I can’t stand about the professional race baiters, not only the ones like Sharpton, but the ones in the press as well. They say his larynx was crushed and is spine was “severed”, but where are they getting this info? Has the autopsy report been released yet to the public? For all we know he could have purposely slammed his head into the van at the same time the van stopped short breaking his neck, but we won’t know any of this until the autopsy report is released to the public. It seems this prosecutor is saying just that, because they didn’t make him wear his seatbelt his neck was broken but we have to wait for the report.

I thought her speech was very good. She said her family was generations in law enforcement.

Lots of people came from LE backgrounds/families or had close LE connections and now no longer trust government at any level.

So I'm not sure what your point is?

Isn't that her role as prosecutor?

Don't confuse people with logic.

So she received money off grays lawyer and is married to him.

Nah no bias here in the charges. No wonder the Mayor did not want outsiders to do the investigation

She said....."No justice, no peace"........."and to the young people, this is our time."

These are political statements, not legal statements. That is worrisome.

I am at a disadvantage to explain a broken cervical vertebra based upon what has been reported. The 'bolt' issue seems very thin to explain a broken cervical vertebra. I suppose if he was 'thrown around' in the van and he hit his head on the wall of the transport vehicle with some velocity it might be able to break a vertebra. It would be more likely to result in a subdural hematoma.

If these cops are being railroaded, and in all likelihood will result in serious prison time, then every cop in Baltimore should call in sick. If this is a serious investigation then they should continue to service the city. If the cops stayed off of the job, the city would burn. (By the way, I did not hear any charges for arsonist (who they have photos of), attacks with attempted murder of the police by throwing rocks and bricks, injuring over 100 officers).

Funny how the law and order crowd now doesn’t like how the system works.

It is funny.

Law and order crowd, before today: Whoa now, the police and DA are investigating. They may charge the officers, they may not, but let's not jump to any conclusions before they finish their investigation.

Law and order crowd, today: The DA is an angry black bitch, and the investigation was OBVIOUSLY biased against the officers from the start.

Or that the rioters should have just waited a couple days until the cops were charged.

It’s possible the cops really did murder Freddie Gray:
Cops beat up Tea Party demonstrators.
Cops force a New Mexico man to have colonoscopy.
Cops shoot an unarmed homeless man in NM.
Cops routinely shoot family dogs.
Cops strip search a woman on the side of a busy road in front of her kids.
Cops strip search teenage girls.
Cops throw flashbang in a baby’s crib during a no-knock raid.
Cops Break into conservatives’ homes in Wisconsin, knowing they’re on a political witch hunt.
Cops beat up abortion clinic protestors.
Cops in Nebraska break into a witness’s home and steal his cell phone because he videoed police brutality while many other cops watch and do nothing.

These are just a few of the abuses I can think of off hand. When CVII does come, your local police force will side with the tyrants. There will be very few who don’t.

Just listening to Cummings and other protestors state they have already convicted these cops.

No justice no peace is a political statement and this is a witch hunt.

I cannot see a murder charge, but I can see the possibility of manslaughter if they failed to secure him in the van as they should have done.

Her ‘announcement’ was playing to the mob, not that of a professional - obviously cut out of the same cloth as the Mayor of Mayhem ... wonder if she too has been in close, daily contact with ValJar. If I were a cop, especially a white cop in Baltimore, I’d be sending out resumes or better yet, looking at a change in careers.

I can only speak for myself, but after a certain age, you view people in their 20s as kids. I have three kids in their twenties, but I still refer to them and their friends as kids sometimes. It's a bad habit, but they do seem young to me. ☺

The legal definition of a “switch blade knife” is rather inexact, and varies greatly from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Ability to extend the blade with only one hand is the definition in many places.

Arresting a convicted felon out on parole with a probable illegal weapon is EXACTLY the right thing for a patrolman to do. The judge and prosecutor determine guilt or innocence, NOT the patrolman.

Funny how the likes of you and the other left wing scum anarchists were silent when cops are killed or hurt especially during the riots.

How about looking into the prosecutor received thousands of $ off GRAYS LAWYER .

Look who she is married to.

The Mayor stating how 3 black females can get this justice done for Gray and harping on about no justice no peace which is political .

Sometimes when I read your posts I get the impression I am reading posts by Sharpton or Michael Mooore .
